It's In The Bag -- No *On* The Bag!

If you read my columns, you know I love collecting stuff. Yup, just stuff, as I collect all sorts of things, not just one "category." But, I do have some sort of vintage dressing affliction... It goes past an interest, but not an obsession as I am far too particular. It means I have lots of hunting to do.

Recently I found an eBay seller who packs a double-wallop for me as a buyer: She re-vamps vintage purses with images of vintage beauties, retro cuties, and other cool stuff.

This seller also does jewelry, tissue boxes & other accessories.

Being a curious cat, I naturally wanted to speak with them about their unique products... Heather was willing to let me be nosy. *wink*

VintageReVamped is the eBay ID for the creative team of Heather & Cindy.

Heather is 19 years old & attending a local community college currently studying liberal arts. An aspiring writer, she will soon transfer to Syracuse University to study English with a focus on Creative Writing.

Mom Cindy is disabled with back & neck injuries due to 3 car accidents that were not her fault.

Together with Heather's two part-time jobs, they run VintageReVamped to support themselves - and their "zoo" of 3 cats, a prairie dog, a sugar glider, and 3 parrots.

Naturally, Heather is a collector herself:

"It's such a girly collection- I just love dressing differently than other people so I have loads of clothes and shoes- most of which I don't wear so often.

Vintage clothing is one of the things I wear most. I am a Salvation Army girl. I love the way people comment on my clothes and how nice they are and when I proudly tell them I got it at the Salvation Army (salvo as I fondly call it) they say "Oh" and then get a funny look on their face- like they are ashamed to like it. Never fails to make me laugh.

I started making the purses because I love vintage purses and love pin up girls. So I thought I would combine to two and then I thought other people would like a chance to have them."

As a buyer, I was concerned about how the images are applied - how they would wear. (Now that I have one, and seen it, I no longer worry - I am on my way to frequent-buyer-smiles!) But for the curious: "The images are treated so that they become like vinyl. They are durable and affixed firmly. T hey are not guaranteed for life- but what is? They do have a very long life and we have had no complaints as of yet. The only thing they cannot withstand is extreme heat."

Did I tell you most auctions & sales in their eBay Store start at $15 or less, with many for just $7?!

Oh yes, this is dangerous knowledge...
