Kitschy-Kitschy-Coo - THINK PINK SINK

THINK PINK SINK

Is stainless steel a color fad, or the eternal future?

Do you miss your avocado stove or your harvest gold refrigerator?

Will pink tile bathrooms with pink sink and tub, be in your future, or was it in your past?

Do you love old green kitchen utensils, or bright red handles on your spatula and hand mixer? Was Martha correct to espouse the virtues of Fire King green?

What the heck makes us all “Love” the current fad design or color? 'Moo, Moo'

How revolting the color of the last fad item we purchased, now looks with todays new theme. 'Kitschy Coo.'

Looking around at any good size antique mall and you will see examples of “style and Color” that transcends time, or causes laughter at the foolhardy generation that bought into such junk.

Being old enough to have gone through several iterations of “Must Have” styles, how can I criticize what we now find as collectible 50's and 60's antiques.

Recently we discovered several antique mall locations featuring the discards of the fifties and sixties. Pole lamps, freestyle furniture designs, abstract pottery and art glass, clunky enameled or fused glass jewelry, plastic everything, laminated everything, aluminum everything, paint by number, all cheap and ugly.

OH YEAH! We bought it then and after a time, we were glad to throw it out. Now we're buying it again to resell. Kitschy, Kitschy, Coo. What we won't doo.
